{"id":261,"date":"2008-01-16T22:56:56","date_gmt":"2008-01-17T04:56:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/?p=261"},"modified":"2008-01-16T22:56:56","modified_gmt":"2008-01-17T04:56:56","slug":"terminal-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/?p=261","title":{"rendered":"Terminal 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal1.jpg\" title=\"terminal1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal1.jpg\" alt=\"terminal1.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mom and Dad are just about to arrive at the airport here. \u00a0In order to meet them, I just arrived at the airport too. \u00a0I took the train which has its last stop at the terminal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\">Except&#8230; there\u2019s a brand new terminal (new last week!) and now the train stops there instead of at the old terminal. \u00a0So when the train arrived I stumbled off with quite a few other baffled passengers and we all ricocheted around the giant empty building trying to figure out how to reach familiar ground.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px; text-decoration: none\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\">The new terminal is vast and shiny. \u00a0So much so that your tiny monitor can\u2019t possibly convey it properly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal2.jpg\" title=\"terminal2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal2.jpg\" alt=\"terminal2.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal3.jpg\" title=\"terminal3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal3.jpg\" alt=\"terminal3.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal4.jpg\" title=\"terminal4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal4.jpg\" alt=\"terminal4.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal5.jpg\" title=\"terminal5.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal5.jpg\" alt=\"terminal5.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal6.jpg\" title=\"terminal6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal6.jpg\" alt=\"terminal6.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\">And, this escalator holds still when no one is on it &#8212; and then detects when people climb on and starts moving!<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal7.jpg\" title=\"terminal7.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/terminal7.jpg\" alt=\"terminal7.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph Body\" style=\"line-height: 20px\">This presents a classic example of iterative design. \u00a0If an escalator is stopped, no one can tell if it\u2019s an \u2018up\u2019 or a \u2018down\u2019 escalator. \u00a0When I approached one from the wrong direction, it buzzed to alert me of my mistake. \u00a0Sooner or later they\u2019ll be running the place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mom and Dad are just about to arrive at the airport here. \u00a0In order to meet them, I just arrived at the airport too. \u00a0I took the train which has its last stop at the terminal.
