(I&#8217;m starting to walk away, at this point.)<\/p>\n<p>He:\u00a0 What&#8217;s the name of that thing, that thing that happens in your wrists&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Me:\u00a0 (Pausing, trying to be polite.) Carpal tunnel syndrome?<\/p>\n<p>He:\u00a0 Yeah!<\/p>\n<p>Me:\u00a0 (Edging away again.\u00a0 His voice get louder to compensate.)<\/p>\n<p>He:\u00a0 You know what&#8217;s good for that?<\/p>\n<p>Me:\u00a0 (still edging away)<\/p>\n<p>He:\u00a0 Herb!\u00a0 You, know, weed!\u00a0 (He makes the universal &#8216;toke&#8217; sign)<\/p>\n<p>Me:\u00a0 (pretty far away, by now)<\/p>\n<p>He:\u00a0 (shouting)\u00a0 SO, DO YOU NEED ANY?\u00a0 ANY HERB?<\/p>\n<p>Me:\u00a0 NO, NO THANKS.<\/p>\n<p>He:\u00a0 (unintelligible, out of earshot)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I set out for lunch today I accidentally left my wrist brace on.\u00a0 On my way out of the apartment building, a guy who was peering inside stepped back and opened the door for me.
