{"id":713,"date":"2009-04-07T21:18:20","date_gmt":"2009-04-08T03:18:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/2009\/04\/07\/birch-aquarium\/"},"modified":"2009-04-07T21:18:20","modified_gmt":"2009-04-08T03:18:20","slug":"birch-aquarium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/?p=713","title":{"rendered":"Birch Aquarium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m in Southern California for work this week.<\/p>\n<p>The aquarium at Scripps is doing some kind of Easter-related promotion.\u00a0 In the entryway there was a table with trays of various underwater eggs, including these hilariously-shaped shark eggs.\u00a0 (The table has a multicolored tablecloth, so the backgrounds of these photos are a bit distracting.)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/sharkegg1.jpg\" alt=\"sharkegg1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/sharkegg2.jpg\" alt=\"sharkegg2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t imagine what purpose these shapes can serve.<\/p>\n<p>They also had several strings of squid eggs (a plaque claims that rafts of squid eggs are often &#8216;as big as a two-car garage.&#8217;)\u00a0 There were also freshly-hatched baby squid &#8212; they didn&#8217;t look like much in person, but zoomed in a bit one of the photos I took looks pretty good.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/squideggs.jpg\" alt=\"squideggs.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/babysquid.jpg\" alt=\"babysquid.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rest of these pictures should be self-explanatory.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/egghunt2.jpg\" alt=\"egghunt2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/egghunt1.jpg\" alt=\"egghunt1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/robots.jpg\" alt=\"robots.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bogott.net\/unspecified\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/punchline.jpg\" alt=\"punchline.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m in Southern California for work this week.
