‘Albino paradisefish’
This was the first Macropodus that I raised indoors in tanks rather than in outdoor tubs.
They built a nice, solid bubblenest with big, robust fry. I tried raising the fry exclusively on moina which didn’t work all that well; a handful of the fry survived but they were extremely small. I’ve had good luck with moina as a food since then, so I suspect the issue was just that I didn’t feed enough.
The modern trend with this line of fish is to select for fewer stripes and more blue in the fins… 2024 albino paradisefish look radically different from albino paradisefish when I first kept them in the 80’s.
