Trichopsis schalleri

Spawn was much the same as Trichopsis pumila. I kept a group of 5 in a 20″ 8-gallon tank with a mix of tap water and r/o water and fed the adults mostly live food. They spawned, infrequently, in a capped 1″ pvc cave. The spawn was large and the fry were quite small, eating vinegar eels as a first food.

The fry grew up in full-hardness tap water. They seem sturdy and are easy to feed, but grow very slowly. After two months they’re less than a half inch long but showing adult shape and markings.
